HAND THROWN ON MARTHA'S VINEYARD

Nature informs Lainey's work and growing up in the Hudson Valley (NY) provided a constant view of distant mountains, rolling farmland, dense forest, and deep green streams. The inevitable influence of the Vineyard's environment is also ever present in the work. Coastal rocks and glacial deposits polished by weather and time evoke surface textures and glaze palettes. The sea, the sky, and even the flotsam and jetsam, washes ashore in the color, texture and shapes. The work evokes Scandinavian design, with a twist of rustic and clean lines. 

This collection celebrates customized, one-of-a-kind ceramic pieces and sets. All glazes are mixed in small batches, with glazes and clay bodies ranging in color, texture, and unique finishes. These pieces are designed to brighten the home and enhance the dining experience.
